If Fry's (Kroger) and Safeway don't meet the economically unrealistic demands of the union by Friday at 6pm, the union will be forcing their members to strike.  We discuss the role of unions and how in many cases they distort the market.

Earlier this week, a listener emailed in a question; "Is God a libertarian?"  He provided evidence supporting the affirmative.  We also discussed the presence of a gene in the human species that appeared 200,000 years ago, which appears to be the cause of our communicative abilities, and what uniquely separates humans from all other animal species.

Austin Raynor of Liberty Tree, and a Libertarian Solution "Liberty Writer", joined us this evening to discuss his college campus radio show and podcast.  We also discussed the ludicrosity of Pelosi's 1900+ page health care bill and how interesting it would be to if someone actually read this.  John Stossel of ABC did a recent health care special from which we borrowed audio clips and commented throughout.  It seems that we've beat health care to death on the show, but Obama, Pelosi, and Reid obviously haven't been tuning in as frequently as we would like.

This week, we tackle the War on Drugs.  To any critically-thinking individual, this should be fairly straight-forward.  Government doesn't enact laws (like those that put is in prison for possession of a plant) for public safety or even for our own protection.  They do it because it appeases special interests.  We discuss the institution of drug criminalization, the pragmatic and violent problems these laws cause, and as always we lay out a few solutions.

The House and Senate have both passed new hate crime legislation, which we discuss briefly at the beginning of the program.  We also discuss the essay Producers and Parasites, written in 1935, and point out some of its flaws.  We finish up the program answering some listener emails.

Mark Flatten is a new investigative journalist for the Goldwater Institute and joined us on the program to discuss events at Phoenix Sky Harbor and the administrator taking advantage of "racial quota" laws.  Later in the program, we discuss government choosing winners and losers by giving hand-ups to arbitrary groups and knocking down others.
