The primary question of this episode was, "Does the individual have an inalienable right to self-defense?"  We believe the answer to be Yes, and we didn't receive any opposition on that point.  See how this relates to issues like 9/11 and the Somli pirates.

Carrie Ann Sitren from the Goldwater Institute called in to provide an update to the CityNorth case, whereby the City of Phoenix has lost in court the ability to pay a private developer nearly $100 million in taxpayer subsidies.  She was followed by Susan Kayler who successfully joined us this week to discuss photo radar in Arizona, the illegal methods used to enforce the laws, and the ineffectiveness of speed cameras.

What is an economy, and how does it operate on its own without coercion?  We began addressing these questions at the start of the program, and continued that discussion throughout with the help of a couple of listener call-ins.

There are roughly 46,000 deaths per year on our nation's government-maintained and managed roads, but government never receives blame for this and so therefore has no real incentive to do anything about it.  Would a private road system put those who manage the roads in a position to make them safer and more efficient?

We discussed this issue with Dr. Walter Block on today's program, an Austrian school economist and libertarian/anarcho-capitalist philosopher, a Professor of Economics at Loyola University New Orleans, a Senior Fellow with the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and a supporter of privatizing the nation's roads.

Jim and Nick attended a debate at Phoenix College this past Tuesday evening regarding government stimulus spending.  The two debaters arguing in favor of the stimulus had no flow in their presentations and constantly contradicted themselves.  The two arguing against it made extremely persuasive arguments.  And of course, we aren't biased one way or another (sarcasm).

Dr. Robert Balling joined us to discuss climate change and global warming.  He provided some excellent information about the earth's natural reactions to various factors and what impact humans may have on the global climate.
