Even though it took some technical effort, we were finally able to successfully connect with Jim Rogers.  The interview starts out choppy, but we do get things cleared up (are all phone calls now being routed through the Federal Reserve system?).  Among other things, he provides information on how we got here, what we should do, realizes that we won't, and provides his predictions.  Please support our new (hoax) sponsor, "Governments Gone Wild."

This week, we were honored to have Brian Lee Crowley from AIMS to follow up on our broadcast from Feb 11, 2009 discussing the fundamental flaws in the Canadian health care system.  US politicians are working to create a nationalized health care system in this country.  We need to understand why such a system is doomed to failure so we don't repeat the mistakes made by our neighbors to the north.

Joining us once again is Arizona's State Treasurer Dean Martin to discuss the state budget crisis.  Apparently, the new legislature and governor have cut $1.1 billion in spending from the budget, shoring up the bulk of the crisis.  We also talk about the idea of greed as the cause of our current nationwide economic situation.  Was there too much greed, or not enough risk?

February 11, 2009

If you've ever had thoughts about the United States moving to a single-payer health care system, or questions about Canada's system, this is the episode to listen to.  Brian Ferguson, Professor of Economics at University of Guelph in Ontario joins us to discuss flaws in the single-payer model.  He also addresses and confirms many of the common critiques (i.e. long waiting lists), and responds to common arguments for such a system.

February 4, 2009

In past episodes, we've discussed the concept of "taxation as theft".  Today, each of us took our turn explaining our own views on why that is and how we come to that conclusion.  In the later half of the program, the subject of conversation was "green taxes", along with a ridiculous example of how trying to use taxes to "persuade" people to behave a certain way is a flawed methodology.
